MARVEL at the Psi-k 2025 conference

Aug 25, 2025, 14:00 until Aug 28, 2025, 19:00, SwissTech Convention Center, EPFL

As a platinum sponsor, the NCCR MARVEL will be present with a booth at the Psi-k 2025 conference. We will showcase some major outcomes, with the Materials Cloud and the AiiDAlab web platforms, as well as some general information about the project as a whole. We will be delighted to welcome you on the booth during the coffee and lunch breaks.

The NCCR MARVEL booth will be open throughout the conference week. During the coffee and lunch breaks, in addition, you can meet representatives from the project, according this timetable:

  • Monday 25 August: 16:15-17:15
  • Tuesday 26 August: 10:45-14:45 + 15:30-16:45
  • Wednesday 27 August: 10:45-14:45 + 15:45-17:15
  • Thursday 28 August: 10:45-12:15 + 13:30-14:15 + 15:45-16:45

In addition to general information about the project as a whole, scientists will be present to showcase two major web platforms developed within the NCCR: Materials Cloud and AiiDAlab

MARVEL booth at the Psi-k 2022 conference.

Materials Cloud is a platform designed to enable open and seamless sharing of resources for computational science, driven by applications in materials modelling. It is organized into five sections:

  • LEARN, containing educational materials
  • WORK, which focuses on simulation services, turnkey solutions, data analytics tools
  • DISCOVER, containing curated data, presented via tailored interactive visualizations
  • EXPLORE, which allows to browse the full provenance of selected databases
  • ARCHIVE, which is an open-access, moderated research data repository

AiiDAlab is a web platform that enables computational scientists to package scientific workflows, computational environments, and associated graphical user interfaces, so they can be shared with their collaborators and peers. Computational workflows can be bundled together with user-friendly graphical interfaces and made available through the AiiDAlab app store. It lowers the entry barrier for setting up a computational research software environment and significantly simplifies the execution of complex scientific workflows.
