Philipp Werner has been professor at the physics department of the University of Fribourg since 2012. Within MARVEL phase I, he was a group leader in Horizontal Project 3. In phase II, he has been a group leader in Design & Discovery Project 5. Within MARVEL phase III, since May 2022, he is a project leader of the Continued Support, Advanced Simulation Methods.
