International Women's Day 2021
EPFL — 09:15 - 18:40
EPFL offers a full-day program of online talks, seminars and debates. Martin Vetterli and Gisou van der Goot, as well as Andrea Wulf, Felicitas Pauss and many others, will take part in the discussions. Detailed program available here.
With the creation this year of the Vice-Presidency for Responsible Transformation, it has never been more crucial to ensure that EPFL is at the forefront of the issues of inclusion and sustainability throughout the School’s campuses and activities. Equal opportunities, ecology, fair science communication and promoting equality between women and men in the workplace are just some of the topics that will be discussed.
This event will be streamed live on its webpage throughout the day.
No advance registration is needed.
ETHZ — 14:00 - 15:00
Iris Bohnet and Sarah Springman discuss the contextual parameters essential for closing the gender gap.
In 1971, women in Switzerland gained the right to vote. 50 years on, while we have become more aware of persistent local and global gender inequity, many organisations and individuals are still struggling with how to most effectively create more inclusive workplaces and societies. What factors do you need to take into account to foster equality? How should data be used to make more informed decisions in this context? And what does evidence-based decision-making actually mean?
